The 3rd round of the Shell Houston Open is over and Stewart Cink had another fantastic round. He made five birdies and one bogey to get to -4 on the day and -11 on the tournament. He is now tied for the lead, which means he will be paired with Bill Haas tomorrow afternoon. Here’s a video of Cink after he finished his round. I love his confidence in the video and you can tell he is enjoying the tournament so far.
As I mentioned earlier, Matteson had a very rough start to the day with two double bogeys. He managed to fight back and go -3 for the rest of the round, which puts him at -1 on the tournament. Considering the start he had, I would say he played pretty well today. He is tied for 61st in the tournament and will start early tomorrow morning. Cink, however, should get tons of media coverage once NBC’s broadcast starts at 3 P.M. Eastern time.
